'56 Dashboard Pics I wasn't too thrilled with the stock padded '72 dash, and didn't want to go with a bolt-on aftermarket one either. I've always loved the dashes in the older bugs, specifically the oval's with the big ole chrome radio grill in the center. So, this is what I decided on when choosing a "custom" dash for my '72 Super... a bone-stock dash out of a '56 oval. Here's my dash back in the day. The original '72 dash after removing padding '56 oval dash installed in my '72 Super. There....THAT outta confuse the hell out of 'em.
